Unfortunatley poor weather has not allowed us to do any whale watching during the past week and allthough a few whales are still passing the bay there are not enough to confidently continue the cruises for this year. The southern migration was excellent with whales sighted on all but 1 cruise. We look forward to seeing you when the whales return at the end of May 2004. |

Finally the winds have eased allowing another whale watching cruise this morning. Two humbacks were sighted off Bowen Island. Sightings have been exceellent throughout the southern migration with a 100% success rate to date. |

The first of the southern migrating Humpback whales have been come past the bays entrance during the last week. We will be commencing our whale watching cruies from the 8th Sept through to the end of the migration in about mid November. Cruise depart daily at 9am. Bookings are essential. |

We will be conducting Seal Colony visits from this week end until the southern migration starts which should be early September. Whilst there will still be a chance to see Whales on the Seal Colony visits over the next 2 weeks most Whales have passed Jervis Bay. We are expecting a great Southern Migration & are hoping to catch the Albino Humpback that was sighted off Tweed heads earlier this migration

With conditions finally improved the whale watching this morning was excellent with a number of pods cruising past the entrance to the bay. Mv Explorer followed two larger whales for some time. The experience was enjoyed by all on board. Conditions should be ideal for the next few days at least. |

This mornings cruise provided a real treat with the sighting of what we believe was a blue whale. Rarely seen in these waters it was travelling north along the coast about 3nm out to sea. A great experience. |

Today provided perfect conditions for our first whale watching cruise for 2003. Two whales were sighted just south of the entrance to the bay with some breaching being observed. A false killer whale was also sighted east of the old lighthouse. The whale numbers have been increasing over the last week so al looks great for a good season. |

The 2003 Whale Watching season is only a matter of 7 weeks away now. The season generally starts on the first week in June but may start earlier depending on the numbers of whales sighted in May. Keep checking on this site for further updates. |
